Gunnar Halle is a Norwegian trumpet player, born in 1973. He lived in Copenhagen from 1997 - 2007 and in this period he played and toured with Danish groups such as Tys Tys, Pierre Dørges New Jungle Orchestra, Fredrik Lundin Overdrive, Susi Hyldgaard, Copenhagen Art Ensemble and many others. Halle graduated from Rythmic Music Conservatory in 2002. He was also one of the founders of the record label ILK. In Norway and Sweden Halle has worked with Josefine Lindstand, Mari Boine, Eivind Aarset, Espen Eriksen, Fattigfolket, Lars Andreas Haug Band, and the folkmusic group FatDog.
In 2015 Gunnar Halle released his first album under his own name called Istanbul Sky, and is now touring with his own quartet. The self-produced album has been critically acclaimed by journalists, and given airplay both in Norway and around Europe. 'Gunnar Halle has taken place among the leading trumpet players from Norway.
